Self-Portrait (LEOllipop)

Corn syrup, sugar, artificial flavor, artificial color, plastic wrap, and sticks

Lollipop, each 6 x 2 x 2 in.; overall dimensions variable

Leo, the artist, produced lollipops in the shape of his own head. This figure is both worshipped and objectified. However, once the ownership of these head-shaped candies is transferred to the customers, they have the freedom to do anything they want to them. Each LEOllipop comes with a QR code card linked to a promotional AR filter on Instagram. Customers unwittingly become the face of LEOllipop posters, further objectified used by LEOlipop as a promotional tool. Meanwhile, consuming these slightly oversized lollipops (which contain 60 grams of sugar) causes harm to their bodies. The dominance power dynamic goes in multiple directions.
